And here's the contraption in the final normal-work setting. It's up and out of the way so I can work without interference. Pretty? NO! But it works... :-)

Here's the same contraption in the "work while it rains" setting. It extends the tarp out so I can work without having a constant stream of rain running down my neck.

The only place for my workbench & tools is outside in the back of our house. That leaves them open to the elements, dust, etc. So I've just put up a rope&pulley& tarp contraption that covers them when I'm not working. Pretty? NO! But it works.

(Ah, there he is.) On with the lesson: Take him to a different body of water (unless he's particularly gullible) and repeat from step 1. That's all it takes!
