And here's the contraption in the final normal-work setting. It's up and out of the way so I can work without interference. Pretty? NO! But it works... :-) 

Here's the same contraption in the "work while it rains" setting. It extends the tarp out so I can work without having a constant stream of rain running down my neck. 

The only place for my workbench & tools is outside in the back of our house. That leaves them open to the elements, dust, etc. So I've just put up a rope&pulley& tarp contraption that covers them when I'm not working. Pretty? NO! But it works. 

Our fish, Christopher, never left the water the whole time we were on vacation in Greece!

And now to show you my patented method to teach 2-year-olds to swim. Give them a big smile, hold out your arms, generally deceive them into thinking you are trustworthy.
